In 1985 during a visit to the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, Petia Prime saw “Europe in the 21st Century” in a vision. While meditating “E21C” appeared in big golden letters. This was the birth of E21C. It started as an idea to create a safe, sane place, a place of healing and learning where people could meet, exchange ideas and be inspired.

For some time Petia had been looking for the right place to realize this project. In 1988 a suitable place consisting of the outbuildings of an old farm in the village of Herne in the greenbelt of Brussels presented itself. It was to become the E21C Centre. Situated in beautiful green surroundings, the buildings were restored according to the latest ecological building standards. Great care was taken to preserve their original charm and to protect the land. Over the last decades it has been used for organic farming and gardening. It is completely free from pesticides and fertilizers.
